FACTSHEET: ECDIN - Environmental Chemicals Data and Information Network

Developed by the Environmental Research Programme of the Commission of the European Communities, ECDIN brings together a wide variety of data about chemicals being produced in amounts that may have environmental significance. ECDIN includes data and regulatory information from the US, Canada, Eastern and Western Europe, and the Pacific Rim.

Packaging & labeling requirements are listed in each of the 8 languages required for products sold in the EC.

Anyone involved in hazard assessment, environmental research, preparing MSDS's, or occupational health and safety, can use the ECDIN databank to evaluate effectively the real or potential risks and ecological impact of a chemical substance.

The ECDIN databank is available online or in CD-ROM format exclusively through TDS Numerica in North America. ECDIN includes the official EINECS list of 122,392 chemicals and provides extensive data for approximately 25,000 substances.
